Cultivating Financial Wellbeing

Money. Let’s talk about it.
But first a meditation to manifest financial abundance.
Now that we’re grounding and visualizing what this picture of our life looks like, let’s come to the heart of the matter. What do I feel? Success or Shame? Ease or Anxiety? Support of Suffocation?
With the help of Liza Millet, we revisit carried beliefs from our family of origin around cash flow in this compelling community conversation. I am so grateful to Liza who has supported me in finding my financial independence amidst a life change during the pandemic.
Liza has supported Mindfulness for Mamas (M4M) from our inception, inviting us to participate in Silicon Couloir’s Start-Up Intensive where we learned entrepreneurial lessons that continue to cultivate and grow our community to make a lasting impact for mamas. In giving back to the group, Liza offers her experience as a money manager to talk through opportunities she sees for people, especially women, to take better control of our financial lives.
In the session, we discuss typical mistakes she sees, what she thinks about life insurance, goals around saving for kids’ college and retirement, and one good habit we could start today. What are the areas in your life you’d like to cultivate financial abundance? Are you caught up in your family’s money shame cycle? If so, what story are you telling yourself and how can you change the narrative? Brené Brown says,
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.”
The mass amounts of empathy that I have received over the past few months from friends, family, coworkers, agencies, support groups and therapists have helped me say goodbye to financial shame…well, most of the time. I am grateful every day for the stories I have embodied, which have shaped me into the mama I am today.
Peace & Love,
Haley Deming, Co-Creator of M4M
